How to Measure

How to measure height, bust, waist, hips, and hollow to floor for a dress

Height

  • Stand straight with your feet together.
  • Measure in bare feet.
  • Begin at the top of the head and pull the tape straight down to the floor.

Bust

  • This is not your bra size.
  • Wear an unpadded bra. Your dress will have a built-in bra.
  • Relax your arms at your sides.
  • Measure across the fullest part of the bust.

Waist

  • Find your natural waist, the smallest part of your waist.
  • It is usually about 1 inch above the belly button.
  • Keep the tape slightly loose to allow breathing room.

Hips

  • Find the widest part of your hips, usually about 7 inches below the natural waist.
  • Keep the tape parallel to the floor and measure across both hipbones.

Hollow to Floor

  • Stand straight with your feet together and measure in bare feet.
  • Begin at the hollow between the collarbones and pull the tape straight down to the floor.
  • For high heels, add an extra 5 cm to custom-sized floor-length dresses and dresses with trains.

My dress was a custom color and size, but the same style as the original dress. AND, it delivered a week early! Definitely wished I sized down a few inches (3-5 inches) for the bust and waist area, though, because I had to lace it up all the way if I wanted it to stay in place + didn’t have the cute classic laced up back. Would def order from here again.

GORGEOUS

Due to shipping, I’m going to have to get it steamed because it is a bit wrinkled, but other than that, it’s everything I wanted. The pearl and silver beaded neckline is stunning and the shine on the fabric really sets it apart from anything else I’ve seen. I got it custom ordered so I can’t say anything about if the general sizing is accurate or not. The off-the-shoulder flowy things make it kinda impossible to lift your arms at a 90 degree angle, but I don’t usually lift them that high. Overall, absolutely perfect and I highly recommend.
